budget.
-It looks like Hollidaysburg can get by again without
raising taxes.

-The Dr. Espy property on west Allegheny Street has been a controversy
due to physical conditions and is being considered for demolition; owner is
contesting to remodel to make it livable, but has not yet made a reconstruction
permit.
-Mayor proposed improving the railroad crossing on West Penn
Street and the manager agreed at the meeting to take care of the situation.
-Resident complained about narrow parking at East Christiana
St.
-Martinsburg Borough has proclaimed that Thursday of
Halloween is the same date that most other municipalities have.
Roaring Spring
Council President Ron
Glunt writes:
-Borough had a meeting with the townships and boroughs at
the school. We’re working on a theme for the Cove Area.
-We ordered a new borough utility truck to be in service in
2009.
-Borough will be hiring part-time snow plow drivers.
-Mountain ground will be open for hunting.
-We’re confident that we won’t have to raise taxes as we
make the new budget.
-Chief of police Mickey Fields has been recognized by the
Attorney General and will receive an award in December.

Mayor Jim Kilmartin

-Soldier Send-Off Parade & Ceremony was Sept
24th at noon.
-Mayor Kilmartin has proclaimed Sept 24th as
National Guard 56th Brigade Day in the Borough of Tyrone.
-Contracted with Casselberry &
Associates to provide an Evaluation for the Boro's Watershed in regards to
possible wind farm and gas lease.
