CAPITAL PUNISHMENT TO OFFER RESOLVE

Posted at 08:03 AM on April 26, 2009

A recent comment on the terrible trend of shooting deaths in Blair County brings to mind an old 1970's saying, (I'd actually seen a T-shirt with it on it) "You Can Get Away With Murder In Blair County." To stop this "trend" as this official said, would take the effectiveness in the issuing of the maximum punishment in all murder cases.

In the seventies the Admitted Murderer Daugherty was sent back to Florida in an appropriate move where he was put to death for murders committed there earlier.

Capital Punishment is effective. Capital punishment will never return innocent loved ones. But always, and in all ways, eases the life long burden placed upon the families and their loss.

The economy is being blamed on the robberies and shootings. Let's add Capital Punishment as an additional resolve to our costly overpopulated prisons and ever growing tax burden.

My thoughts and prayers go out all families in any shooting.

Thanks to the Police in their capture of the recent suspected murderer.

Check your numbers. Due to the repeals process and the expense of the methods used for capitol punishment, it is actually cheaper to keep a man in prison for life than it is to try to execute him.
As far as closure goes, what sort if sick society do we live in, that we must see someone die in order to feel better? I am not saying that there are no crimes worthy of death. I am simply wondering, why would another death make us feel better about death?
Further more, given your statement about prayers, you seem be a religious sort of man, so I will leave you with a quote from Jesus of Nazareth. "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." (John 8:7)
