Has anyone been involved with the Blair County judicial system recently? It is no wonder that the county has a tight budget the way this system is run.
Those who have a hearing go to a courtroom and sit for hours for about five minutes of time in front of a judge. If you are a person who is incarcerated and you have a Public Defender or Court appointed attorney, you are lucky if he talks to you for five minutes before it's your turn in front of the judge.
How can anyone have a fair and impartial hearing and the right to representation when the attorney doesn't even meet you until five minutes before he "speaks" for you in the court?
What possible good can come of having men and women sit in the Blair County Prison for months and months before they have their "minutes" in court? Taxpayers are paying to house, feed and clothe these people who could be in the community working and paying taxes
This system needs a major overhaul to become more efficient and expedient for all those who are involved.
