In troubled times, integrity is as important as anything else. Lack of integrity is what got us into this quagmire and in my opinion, it is the only thing that will get us out. Those with integrity have their hands tied when dealing with those who don’t. We’ve seen over and over that individuals who have gone to Washington with reform (change) in mind; within their first term, they learn that if they are going to return any “pork” to their community, they need to play the game. Good intentions turn into whatever it takes (the end justifies the means). That’s what we expect of them. We vote for the candidate that promises to make things right, and deep inside we want to do right. That’s our hope.
However well-entrenched, a politician and staff press people to keep the ball rolling down an endless street. We are watching a group of “do gooders.” I think they want to be harmless; however they are trashing our way of life by turning this great country into a socialist experiment. He Germans did it. They abandoned capitalism for socialism. By the way, the German word for socialism is “Nazi.”
We know that if we don’t know history, we are bound to repeat it. We also know that from history is that man never learns from history. The future is ours if we learn from the past.
