Eco-model, environmental activist, and Planet Green television host, Summer Rayne Oakes will speak at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, December 3 in the Adler Athletic Complex at the Penn State Altoona campus.
Oakes’ modeling has taken her all over the world, as has her work with sustainable development projects, the climate change movement, ecosystem conservation, and fair trade. She has been the recipient of many accolades, including Global Citizen by Vanity Fair, one of Outside’s Top Environmental Activists, Cosmopolitan’s Fun, Fearless Female of 2007, and one of Amica Magazine’s ‘Top 20 Trendsetters Under 40.’ She has appeared on CNN and Fox News.
Oakes is a spokesperson, resident expert, and the youngest member of the board of advisors for Discovery Channel’s Planet Green. She writes articles for magazines and Web sites and helps run a boutique consultancy business that develops, implements, and manages campaigns across the globe.
The event is free and open to the public. Tickets are needed and can be picked up at the Penn State Altoona Book Store or at the box office.
