An Altoona City Council Campaign Update from Dave Butterbaugh, Jr.

Posted at 12:09 PM on September 13, 2009

Since starting the Campaign season in July I've knocked on over 1000 doors and have had the opportunity to discuss the issues with many concerned Altoona citizens. I have attended many events including the Tea Party Day at Legion Park, Juniata Community Day, The Labor Day Parade, The Downtown Cruise In and The Altoona First Festival along with other happenings. I have also attended the City Council meetings and have taken the opportunity to speak with Mayor Hippo and all the serving members of City Council. All have been very cordial and have gone out of their way to answer questions and share their thoughts concerning the various issues. I have learned alot while observing the process and talking with the City Department heads along with City Manager Joe Weakland. My background in Land Surveying and Municipal Project experience has been a great help in understanding their concerns and wishes for the City with respect to the technical issues involved.

The dinner event to raise funds for the final stages of the campaign is coming soon. If you haven't ordered spaghetti dinner tickets for Friday October 2nd please do so soon. If you have your tickets let me say thanks again. I'll be picking up the supplies and food from Delgrosso's one week prior to the event. The people at Delgrosso's have been great with me and we are all familiar with the top notch quality of their products, so I know it will be a great evening.
