Impending PA Deregulation Will Cause Price Increases

Posted at 08:10 AM on December 01, 2009 Comments comments (1)

With all the debates over national health care and continued war it seems that a vital issue to Pennsylvanians is being overlooked. That issue is the further deregulation of our electricity providers. It has already been scheduled by our state government to go into effect next year.

As with all “deregulation” the stated purpose is to provide incentive for competition across state and local lines. We will, according to the key word riddled arguments of deregulati...

Local Officials: Thanks for Nothing

To whom it may concern,

Sometime ago, I wrote with a dream and wish to support the returning troops from local 56th National Guard Stryker Brigade with a victory parade. I’ve felt that a parade would express how proud everyone was for the wonderful job our guys did for our country.

I’m proud to be an American and I wouldn’t have the freedom I do if our troops weren’t willing to give of themselves. I’ve made an effort to cont...

Dear Congressman Shuster,

To open, I appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to review some issues that I believe should be brought to your attention. I am a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps and I would like to bring the following subjects to the table regarding healthcare within the uniformed services.

One issue is that the uniformed personnel are to make a scheduled appointment with providers to get essential referrals in order t...

Volunteers Available to Fix Blight

Posted at 06:29 PM on June 02, 2009 Comments comments (0)

Dear Mr. Garber,

With all due respect, I understand the blight problem and I see what you are doing and that it is all for the right reasons. However, the blight that this city has brought down upon its people was opening its doors to Mr. Troxel and the halfway houses. I’m sorry, but all the money in the world (given from outside sources) will never return my city to what it once was. Our city fathers have sold our soul to the devil (i.e. Jersey, Philly, and let’...

ALTOONA TO OWNER: NOT PRETTY ENOUGH

Posted at 10:30 AM on May 27, 2009 Comments comments (0)

Ok, boys and girls. I’ve been quiet for a while now. Done! I went to the city today for my business license to reopen and existing business. Let me tell you how that went.

They sent me to the “Planning Commission” (this is a group of overpaid people that decide how your property should look). It really doesn’t matter what kind of work you do, just if your place is pretty. Well, anyone that knows me knows I’m not pretty, but I get the job done....

Please encourage our legislators to vote for the package they recommended one year ago to fund schools for the amounts they realized the local economy could not.

DEDICATED HEALTH CARE IN BLAIR

Posted at 07:45 AM on April 26, 2009 Comments comments (0)

While searching over the internet I came upon this site that was referred to me several months ago by a wise and dear friend. I had misplaced it and as fate would have it, I stumbled onto it tonight and I have something to say.

Valley View Home is the Blair County Nursing Home, and I would like to have the opportunity to speak with the Commissioners to ask the many questions that I have.

An unknown author writes, "I will devote myself to the welfare of my patients, my...
