At night I sleep soundly. In the morning I
awake early, walk my dog, and drink a cup of coffee as I plan how I
want to go about my day - not very different from anyone else who is a
citizen of this country. I speak freely; worship openly; live my life
as I choose; and enjoy freedoms too numerous to count.
As Memorial Day approaches, please take the time to honor those men and
women who have given their their lives to safeguard the freedoms we so
often take for granted.
And as you rest your head tonight, be thankful that there are young men
and women still willing to make sure that you wake up tomorrow to
another day of doing what you choose.
God bless the USA and God bless our military personnel!

I am proud to be an American because we have choices, choices to join a
union or not, choices to go where we want when we want, choices to
speak about anything we want when we want, choices to support whom we
want for office and to vote when we can, and choices to be whatever we
want when we want. This is a great country and we should all be proud
to be Americans , this fourth of July I will celebrate with hundred of
others at a good old fashioned celebration at a local Catholic Church.
There will be food and drink and games of all kinds and most of all
people celebrating their freedom in the best way they know how, by
choosing to do so!

I am proud of America because of its foundation. All of the freedoms we
enjoy here can't be found altogether in any other country like it is in
America. We are free to worship, free to disagree with our government,
and free to safely vote for whomever we choose.
God has blessed this land with wealth for everyone who wants to
succeed, and anybody can do anything in this country despite any
disadvantage they may think they have. Americans are the most generous
people in the world, which is why we are the land of opportunity.
If you don't vote, please do. If you need help, ask someone. There are
unlimited resources this country (even in Blair County) offers if you
look. With such an abundance of luxuries, it's easy to take things for granted in America. Even though gasoline prices are so high, we should be thankful that we have cars, roads, and places to drive to begin with! And if we can't afford to go somewhere, it only takes a few clicks and we can have anything we want at our doorstep.
To celebrate the 4th of July I'm going to make an effort to go to
Lakemont Park for the fireworks, but like Lauren above, I'll probably
have to work.
God Bless America.

I'm proud of America because of the freedoms on which we were founded and still stand for today. I'm proud that America is synonymous with Liberty as exemplified in the holy scriptures. And I'm proud that America remains willing to defend those unalienable rights given to ALL people. Many of the candidates for national office continually decry a list of problems that seem nearly insurmountable. However, with God's help, the United States will overcome whatever it is faced with and continue to fight for freedom around the world.
For a number of years, I have been in Washington DC on Independence Day. As usual I will be on the National Mall between the U.S. Capital and the Washington Monument to watch the National Fireworks display.

To be honest, I'm not sure of my plans for the 4th. I always picture a
sunny day, family, and all the grilled meat you can eat. We really have
it pretty good here. We set off fireworks in remembrance of the real
explosions during the revolutionary war. Brave men and women fought
the powers of oppression and tyranny to give us this, still I think,
semi-free nation and that is what I am most proud of. Cherish what you have cause you might not have it tomorrow.

As too, on July 4th I'll work on that day, but remember the men and women who gave much for the liberities we tend to tread on!
I know this sounds harsh, but in this once great country we've forgotten the struggles and joys of having the gift of freedom! I hope all have a safe and happy fourth please remember to give back too the land and country where you live.
